Breaking: Usher Wins Custody of His Sons by Ex-Wife Tameka Raymond

Shall we say congrats to the brother? It's so sad for Tameka, not that she's been a great role model, but with the loss of her son from brain damage a few weeks ago, you can't help but have some pity for her. Here's how TMZ reports it.

Usher's ex-wife Tameka Raymond just lost in the former couple's bitter custody battle, a judge has awarded Usher primary custody of their two sons.

It's a shocking development - considering both sides were trying to strip each other of custody. Tameka felt the singer was an absentee father who was too absorbed in his career to be a good dad. She also accused him of using drugs in front of the kids.

Usher argued Tameka was inattentive and irresponsible. The ruling marks the end of an emotional

custody trial -- involving wild accusations and name-calling ... Usher even broke down at one point on the witness stand.

But today, we're told a judge sided with the singer -- awarding Usher primary custody of the ex-couple's two sons, which means the children will be spending the majority of the time with their father.

Tameka still retains some custodial rights -- but the extent to which Tameka will be able to see her kids is unclear.

Hilarious - Photo of the Day: Groom in Absentia at Wedding to Wife

Who does that? I think this is a crappy idea, why would you want to get married with a PHOTO FRAME and not the real deal? Photo Frame fa.. Hian!

I have heard of people who did this but it doesn't change the fact that it's uber crappy.. Nna (in Ibo accent) God's time is the best o.. Whenever your man or woman returns to Fatherland, a wedding ceremony will be more appropriate only then and not this shamble that the Yorubas have come to stage as a wedding.. Heavy hiss.

Apologies to the bride in the pic I shared, but its my 2cents.

Re - Cynthia Osokogu: Safety Tips for Social Media - Myne Whitman

Romance Meets Life - I read this report of the murdered Cynthia Osokogu, may her soul rest in peace, and chills went over me. She went missing in July and her body was found last week in a Festac Morgue after she had been strangled to death by her Facebook friends and abandoned in a hotel. Several people, including those who may have killed her, have been arrested. Hopefully, they will reveal details of their methods so others can beware of criminals who utilize internet anonymity to perpetuate atrocities on innocent people.
Personally, I love social networking, being a bit shy myself and finding that I needed the grassroots publicity after choosing indie writing as a career. I also love meeting the people I get to know on the internet and exploring some of our similarities and differences in lively discussions. I am equally one of those, getting to over 15% of American couples, who met their significant others online. When I blogged earlier about online romance becoming lasting love, I actually listed internet privacy and safety as an advantage, albeit a double edged one to be careful of.

In all honesty, it wasn't as if I was paying to much attention to these things when I met Atala. Luckily, we had known each other anonymously for a year by then, and he had been a member of the forum for years before that. Because we met on a message board, there were several other people involved so I got to see a dynamic version of him just like in real life. And because I admired him, I went through some of his previous posts in the archives to check for character and consistency. I wanted to know what he had said to other people, even before I joined the site.

I use this method even today on Facebook, and sometimes on Twitter. When I add people, or when some people try to chat me up, I take those few seconds or minutes to visit their profile and see who they say they are, and what their conversations with others are. This determines my interaction with them, and in some cases whether I need to block them. There are red flags for me, people who do not even bother to check my profile before chatting with me, those who call me queen, baby, sexy, madam, or anything other than my name. I am very careful of sycophants and flattery.

I could go on and on but to recap, the safety tips I consider crucial for meeting people through social networking and online dating are as follows;

- Do not believe whatever people say online, especially about themselves.

- Do not give out your personal information, like address, phone number, BB Pin, what you do, etc, until you're comfortable.

- Even emails are private, especially if they contain your real name or birthday. Continue using the messaging service of FB, DM on Twitter, or private messages on a website or dating service.

- Be honest. This makes it easier to stick to your convictions and let some people go, especially when they begin to exhibit some strange characteristics or trickery.

- Do not be embarrassed or bullied into things you don't want to do

- Do not be hurried, take your time to really know who you're dealing with. Look through their past posts or status updates, if they flirt or use inappropriate language, beware. Google them if you need to.

- Talk to other people about the serious people you meet online, especially with online dating, discuss what they do and say to you. You might be able to get a better perspective, in case you're already emotionally involved.

- When you want to meet new people, do it with a friend you already have or in a very public place. If someone insists on meeting you alone, at their house, or sleeping over at yours, that is a red flag.

- Let other people know when you're meeting someone new. Tell them the person's name, and as much information as you have including emails exchanged, text or chat records. Let the person you're meeting know you're doing this.

- Do not be coerced into helping anyone break the law, all in the name of love or romance. If you have proof someone you know online is scamming or defrauding others, don't keep quiet because he/she is not doing it to you yet. Report them to the authorities.

Let's be careful peeps. What other tips do you use to keep safe online?

So, Nigerian embassy will *come and give this Prezzo visa ehn.. Isorait. I fail to see what Goldie saw in him tho, apologies to all the guys reading this bhet truth be told mhen.. Winks. The Kenyan representative in the just concluded Big Brother Stargame show has confirmed his ‘huge interest’ in Nigerian singer, Goldie.
The 34-year-old, decked in a flowing cream coloured agbada regalia, made this known during a media parley held for him today, Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at The Place, in Ikeja, Lagos. He stated his interest in the singer asking that he be forgiven for ‘mistreating’ her, blaming it on the feeling of paranoia that engulfed him while in the house.

According to him, ‘I went into the house with the mind to make my country proud and make the money and along the line, I developed feelings for Goldie and I still do up till now as I speak‘.
Asked about the status of his relationship with Goldie, he stated that he is yet to see her and that is his reason for coming to Nigeria.

I haven’t spoken to Goldie yet and that’s why I am actually here’.

Prezzo, with real names Jackson Makini came second in the show and as a ONE campaign ambassador, will be performing alongside Jay Z in a show to hold in U.S later in the month.

Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Suspends Son, 45 Others For Failure To Declare Assets

In a major step to battle corruption in her administration, Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has suspended 46 government officials, including her son, for failing to declare their assets to anti-corruption authorities.

Her son, Charles Sirleaf, one of three of the president’s sons appointed to government posts, was suspended from his position as Deputy Central Bank Governor. The list also includes several deputy ministers and provincial superintendents. Bella Naija
AFP reports that a press release by the Presidency says their suspension would take immediate effect and would remain in force until they have met the assests declaration requirements.
“President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has, with immediate effect, suspended 46 government officials for failing to declare their assets to the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission. The suspension will remain in force until President Sirleaf receives confirmation from the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission that they have met the assets declaration requirements.”

Before being reinstated, the suspended officials will have to pay the government an amount representing the value of their salaries and allowances for the period of suspension, it said.

Sirleaf is Africa’s first elected female president. She won a second term in 2011 elections and tackling corruption is still one the most pressing issues in the country. Corruption is seen as a big obstacle to development in Liberia which remains one of the world’s poorest countries nearly a decade after the end of a devastating 14-year civil war.

***

Bella Naija  - The issue of public declaration of assets is one that has been severally resisted by top Nigerian leaders including the President, Goodluck Jonathan. However, the actions of Liberia’s President brings its importance again to the fore.

Do you think it is important for public office holders to declare their assets? Does this help in fighting corruption?

Also, Sirleaf’s act of not sparing her son from the suspension is one that has been lauded by leaders across the world. Political office holders in high positions are known to give favour to their family members, often overlooking their wrongdoings.

What do you think about the her act of suspending her son? Do you think Nigerian leaders should borrow a leaf from her actions?

Don Jazzy Donates N2million to Cancer Patient, Funmilayo Lawal

God bless his heart!!! Off of MaestroMEDIA - If all we hear is true, then we believe Mavin's own Numero Uno, the one and only Don Jazzy must be commended and if possible nominated for a National Award. Why? We are sure many are asking and very curious to know. We heard that the prolific producer and CEO of Mavin Records and former label mate of D-Banj heeded the good call to help a follow citizen, in the person of Funmilayo Lawal, the Unilag Law undergraduate, who we had earlier informed you all needed help to stop the spread of a shoulder cancer (Malignant Sarcoma).

Don Jazzy is said to have donated 2 Million Naira towards Funmilayo's fund. By this very HEROIC deed, we believe he deserves an award. Our belief is that others would be encouraged to follow the same path of honour. The fund though still needs 2Million Naira more to reach its mark-4 Million. Thanks a billion Don Jazzy!!!!!

SHOCKER!: The World Will Learn What My Wife Did Next Year - Rev Chris Okotie

*Yimu.. Which world sir? Who cares really, you will do better not to wash your dirty linens in public. Didn't they teach us to let bygone be bygone ni? Anyways, I was snooping around blogs and got this off Linda Ikeji.. According to Encomium magazine, the man of

God and head pastor of Household of God told Christian leaders who went to see him that he will reveal what his wife did to him to make him end their marriage, sometime next year.

They said Pastor Okotie has refused to listen to admonitions and pleas by other pastors who have repeatedly called him or visited his church. He has refused to tell anyone what Stephanie Henshaw did to him; all he says is that he's not ready to give details now but will reveal all a year from now.

Learn From This: Cynthia Osokogu - A Facebook Meet & Greet Gone VERY Wrong!

I missed this story 'cos I was not blogging at the time but you want to read and learn from it.. So, so SAD!!! Last week, Cynthia Udoka Osokogu‘s photograph was all over the internet. She had been missing since late July 2012, however, the news became viral just a few days ago. We saw Cynthia’s photo and prayed that like many others we would hear news that she had been found – alive and well. It was not to be. She is dead. There is a lot of speculation about what happened to Cynthia and lack of information leads to rumours and falsities. No one will know ever know the full story except Cynthia but here is what we can tell you.

What Happened to Cynthia?
24 Year Old Cynthia Osokogu left Abuja in late July 2012 (According to reports, on the 22nd of July 2012). Like many enterprising young people, the post-graduate student of Nasarawa State University was a clothing retailer and had travelled to Lagos to purchase new stock.

Cynthia had been chatting with some new “friends” on Facebook for a few months. In the course of their conversations, they developed a friendship and a level of trust. These young men were also university students, they seemed normal and promised to host Cynthia when she came to Lagos.

There is speculation that they paid for her plane ticket and promised to pay for her hotel as well. Only Cynthia knows if this is true. Whatever the truth is, Cynthia trusted her new friends and had no idea that they had sinister plans.

What we know is that, these 2 young men picked Cynthia up from the airport in Lagos and drove her to a hotel in Festac. At the hotel, they tied her up, robbed her of all the money she brought to shop for her business and strangled her to death.
They then left the hotel and quickly deleted her from their facebook friend list to remove any trace of their connection.
Her brother, dad and mum
The hotel found her body and since her ID cards and mobile phone had been stolen, they could not identify her or call friends and family. Her body was deposited in a morgue in Lagos.

All this time, her family and friends [Continue after jump]

Interview: 10 minutes with J-MARTINS

He was recently honored alongside actor Jim Iyke at the Cameroon Entertainment Awards held at the prestigious Cramton Auditorium in Washington DC weeks ago. Pop-high life singer- producer Martins Okey better known as JMartins is one of the few Nigerian artist that explores the deepest part of their creative ability just to deliver good and quality sounds. Signed under  Efe Omoroegbe's owned Now muzik management, J-martins is an exceptional being when it comes to celebrating the African genre of music. A happily married man with notable awards to his credits and charts bursting songs, his profile keeps rising up both local and internationally. I was priviledged to spend 20 miutes with the "Good or Bad" crooner and words can't qualify how deeply impressed I was with his delivery.

Excerpt:
You have been able to feature 2 big African artist on your songs, how did it happen and what were the challenges you faced?
Fally Ipupa and I have been friends since way back when he was still with Koffi Olomide fine tuning his act, so hooking him up on a track was not difficult at all. We had played wit the idea severally in time past. I guess the usual challenge is the logistics of the recording process which technology has made much easier now. Same with Cabo Snoop, they are both easy going people. Much of the challenges were at the video shoot stage, in all I will say it went pretty smooth.

What's your view about the saying that your songs are not for theNigeria market and that you have focused on the Africa and international market?
To the best of my knowledge, Nigeria is in Africa and a lot of these African countries are feeling Nigerian music. 2Face, P Square, Flavour and a host of Nigerian artistes are well accepted outside the chores of Nigeria.  I wouldn't say I do music for a particular people, I just make good music and hope people get to listen and appreciate it irrespective of who they are and their geographical location.

Aww, gotta log off from here but here are two letters that might interest you, one is a poem 2pac wrote to Jada Pinket while alive [of course :D], there are loads of such letters, they made people think at the time that the rapper and Jada Pinket were an item, though Jada went on later to deny they were anything but friends. SHOCKING, No? - Rihanna's Most Revealing Interview Till Date [with Oprah]

Rihanna knows how to get us awed.. No kidding! She sat down with Oprah recently for an exclusive about her life, love story with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown and more.. Sighs* Well, I gotta say she is a strong woman, if everybody loves the way Rihanna does Breezy, who knows what our world would be like now.. My point is, you gotta give it to her, she's a woman scorned but who still believe in unending love. Make of that what you will, but girlfriend is so not over Mr. Brown.
BTW, I checked all my favourite blogs, Necole Bitchie breaks down Rihanna's interview best of all. Enjoy reading, hoping you will understand Rihanna's overall story.
Over the past three years, we’ve watched Rihanna go from a happy 21 year old who was madly in love, to a heartbroken, bad ass, ganja smoking, middle-finger flinging bad girl with an ‘I don’t give a ****, I don’t want to be a role model attitude’. It has been so very easy to make assumptions that she is still coming to terms with the domestic violence incident, that she needs therapy and some type of guidance, however after watching her interview with Oprah last night, it’s clear that she’s okay. She’s received all of the help that she’s needed, whether it has been through therapy or the support and love of her family, friends and fans. She has very much come to terms of who she is as a person, as well as the things that have happened in her life and she’s healing. ‘I am a work in progress’, she told Oprah. She’s human.
In the 40 minute intimate chat, Rihanna openly laid all of her feelings on the table as she talked about the important lessons she’s learned from her grandmother, who recently passed, as well as the 2009 domestic violence incident that ended her relationship with Chris Brown. She spent a huge part of the interview expressing that she still loved Chris, that she truly believed that he is the love of her life and in order to forgive him, she had to forgive her father for things that happened in her childhood.
The interview was almost equivalent to watching a huge therapy session, but it was very good because while revealing how she has accepted the things that have caused her the most pain in her life, she not only allowed us to understand some of her actions but she was able to help millions of people who are going through similar situations. Oprah did a really good job of humanizing Rihanna with this interview. She stripped her of her pop star status and revealed the real person, under that ‘tough girl’ shell..and that is why she’s the best at what she does.
Check out the highlights after the jump

DonJazzy - "Kanye West is Not Reconcilling Dbanj and I, There's No Truth To It"

So, I just bumped into this, some hiatus I've been on is why :D, apparently a Nigerian publication came out with a screaming headline that Kanye West is set to reconcile Dbanj and his former partner and label boss, DonJazzy but the truth is all that is a lie, confirmed from DonJazzy himself as seen in the twitter extract below. The report even mentioned how Kanye West would be dropping Dbanj from his G.O.O.D Music label if he fails to heed him. You would recall the duo fell apart after news dropped about Dbanj's stint with Kanye West's label, Dbanj has since been with Kanye ever since. Both DonJazzy and Dbanj are doing quite well in their career. So, I gotta ask, can we all move on from here now? Winks

Rick Ross Buys Entire Store in Obalende, Location for His "Hold Me Back" Video Shoot

Rick Ross who is popularly called "THE BOSS" has been savoring every single moment of his visit to Nigeria. The international rapper whose latest album "God Forgives but I Don't" - (oshisko** He REALLY Doesn't Forgive? Eyes rollin') - is no1 on the Billboard album charts , was in Lagos to headline the Summer jam fest on Friday.
I haven't time to do a writeup on this story but here's how Miss Petite Nigeria reported it, well written too.. Miss Petite went on as follows: "What amazes me is that, no other international act has created such frenzy like the boss. The euphoria which greeted his arrival was amazing and in minutes, his arrival in Lasgidi was trending on social networking sites."
Is his successful collaboration with Psquare on "Onyinye" the reason for this? Whatever the reason, Ricky has found a new home in Nigeria which he now calls his homeland. To buttress this, yesterday, the superstar was in Obalende shooting the video for his track. He was surrounded by locals who were overjoyed to be around him. He also bought out a whole grocery store in Mushin
