Michael Jackson was the first artist to win eight Grammys in a single night (a record since tied by Carlos Santana) when he swept with his "Thriller" album in 1984.

Producer and musician Quincy Jones has won a total of 27 Grammys, including several for his work with Michael Jackson.

The Dixie Chicks hold the record for most Grammys won by a group in one night, having swept the 2007 ceremony with five wins: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Country Album, Album of the Year, and Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.

Stevie Wonder has won more Grammy Awards than any other male solo artist with a total of 25 (not including his Lifetime Achievement Grammy).

Akison Krauss -- as a solo artist, collaborator, producer, and with her band Union Station -- has won 26 Grammy Awards, the most ever by a female singer.

Bruce Springsteen balances four trophies backstage at the 37th Annual Grammy Awards in 1995. That year, Springsteen won Song of the Year, Best Male Vocal Performance, Best Rock Song, and Best Song written for a motion picture or television with "Streets of Philadelphia."

Carlos Santana poses with his trophies at the 42nd Grammy Awards in 2000. That year he won eight Grammys, which tied Michael Jackson's record haul for most Gramophones earned in one night.

Soul singer Aretha Franklin has won the Best Female R&B Vocal Performance Grammy a record 18 times, eight of them consecutively.

Musician Ray Charles won a total of 17 Grammys, including eight posthumously for his final album, "Genius Loves Company," in 2005.

Singer Vince Gill won for Best Country Album during The 50th Annual Grammy Awards in 2008. The country crooner has won a total of 20 Grammys.
