Chika Uwazie is a human resource professional with experience in recruiting, human capital management, and organizational development. Chika currently is a recruiting project associate at American Institutes for Research where she leads recruiting on social media platforms and conducts data analysis for recruitment metrics.
She received a full academic scholarship to Bethune Cookman University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and graduated magna cum laude. During her matriculation at Bethune Cookman University she was a presidential ambassador, president of the psi chi honor society, and was
vice president of her sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha.
In the past she worked at World Bank and sat on their Youth Mobility team as the human resource representative to change the experience for young professionals at World Bank.
Chika runs a blog called the Naija Careerist, which gives career advice to young Nigerians. On the Naija Careerist she discusses job search strategies, the state of human capital in Nigeria, and the profession of human resources in Africa.
Chika is also an advocate for a better Nigeria, and was an international observer in the 2011 elections. During her observation a she broke the story through social media avenues of the corrupted elections taking place in her home state of Imo.
She is an avid writer and has been featured in Forbes, Jobberman.com, Human Capital Magazine, and many other publications. She has helped countless Nigerians who seek her advice on personal branding and career development.
In the future she aspires to lead the change of the profession of human resources to become a strategic business partner in Nigerian organizations. Chika is currently obtaining her Masters at Georgetown University in Strategic Human Capital Management.
