Shocking!!! This is one of those stories that rip your heart out, don't despair 'cos the people here were not aware of their close bonds. Apparently, Harrison Tari Okri, popularly known as Harrysong, fast rising R&B singer revealed a family secret to a publication recently, Yes! Magazine, he revealed how his parents gave birth to him not knowing they were blood relations, brother and sister actually. but I give it to Harrysong, he's officially my man of the moment for getting this out and openly too. Nigerian, Doris Chibuko, 40 Among Victims of California Shooting

Doris Chibuko, a Nigerian-trained lawyer and mother of three, was among the 7 people killed by a gunman at Oikos University, Oakland, California on Monday. Doris was studying nursing at the Christian College when she was gunned down by an expelled student of the school, One Ogoh, a Korean. Those killed by Ogoh, who was said to be looking for a female administrator, included six women and a man, while other victims sustained bullet wounds. She was just two months away from completing her nursing programme when she was shot dead by Ogoh, who was angry with the school authorities over his expulsion some months ago and with some of his fellow students for teasing him over his poor English skills.

74yr Old Ex-soldier Secures Admission To Study Law At OAU

A 74-year-old retired colonel Layiwola Adegunju, has secured admission to the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, to study Law. He was among the 5,000 new students that got admission to the university, out of the 72,500 candidates that applied for admission to OAU.

This was contained in a statement on Tuesday by the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju, after the 50th matriculation of the institution.

According to the statement, the septuagenarian, who is from Erunmu, Ibadan, Oyo State, was the cynosure of all eyes at the ceremony attended by the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bamitale Omole, all the principal officers of OAU, the new students and their parents and relations.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo Resigns As PDP Chairman Board Of Trustees

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has resigned as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party. In a statement he personally signed on Tuesday, Obasanjo said he had sent the letter of resignation to the chairman of the party.

“I have formally sent in my letter of resignation as the Chairman of Board Of Trustees of PDP to the National Chairman of the party as prescribed in the party’s constitution. I have formally requested the President to allow my bowing out and to issue a short statement to that effect.

Court Frees Erastus Akingbola, Accuses Five SANs Of Incompetence..Nigeria I Hail Thee!!!

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, yesterday, discharged former Managing Director of Intercontinental Bank Plc, Mr Erastus Akingbola, who is standing trial on a 26-count amended charge of financial impropriety and alleged stealing of N364 billion preferred against him by the Federal Government. Trial judge, Justice Charles Archibong, also dismissed the charges against him.

The court further barred the prosecution from appearing before the court or another judge of the Federal High on the matter, over what it called “serious and professional incompetence” of the prosecution team made up of five Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SANs.

The court also ordered the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Mohamemd Adoke, SAN, to disband the team of the five SANs prosecuting the case for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
