Interesting Read: Between Nigerian And South African Women, From A Nigerian Guy's Perspective

Ok this is one interesting topic that will attract so many interests; I see a lot of controversy coming to play here, some people agreeing, while others will disagree. Before I continue, I must make it clear that the opinion being expressed here is based on research, personal view and societal interaction. Having been in South Africa for a long while and growing up in Nigeria, I have a broad knowledge of women from both countries, as I have interacted extensively with both women. Continue here --->

We should all realize that we are all made in the image of God, and what beauty is to one person may not necessarilly be the same to the next person. In every race or ethnicity, there are the beautiful, cute, sexy, naughty and ugly ones. My opinion here will be based on generalization.
I’m going to keep this short and simple. Let’s be very honest, if you live in South Africa, you can’t help but notice the difference between our women (Naija women) and “Southy” women, I hear lots of comment on a daily basis from guys hanging around discussing the issue, and comparing both set of women. Based on a lot of findings, I’ve come to accept that the only similarity nowadays is that they are both women who happen to be Africans. Based on these findings, I got thinking and decided to compare both using the following categories,

Who is better looking.
Who is street wise (call it intelligent).
Who is more educated.
Who has more financial freedom.
Cultural impact and influence.
Who is more romantic.
General attitude.
Dress code.
Sex.

PHYSICAL BEAUTY: Without beating around the bush, Southy women beat Naija women hands down here, the contest from Naija women is slim, don’t get me wrong, I'm not saying every Southy women are physically more beautiful than their Naija counterpart, I'm talking in terms of the average, for instance, take 20 random southy women and same number of Naija women, only then will you understand , chances are there would be a lot more facially pretty Southy women than Naija women. The average Southy woman is naturally beautiful and applies less make-up and in most cases no make-up at all, while majority of Naija women believe in heavy make-up, and at this point, I must confess, it’s always way too much with too many colors playing around their face. [Duh!]

Another fascinating attribute of most Southy women is their shape, the curves, their bum, you can’t miss that, in-fact, for me it will not be out of order if I say they fall within the first 10 well shaped ladies in the world, here again, Southy women beat Naija women hands down, they are just prettier and more exotic-looking which helps a lot. Just think about it… a typical Shade, Chinyere, Fatima or Onome vs Tumelo, Lerato, Mpume or Katlego. Hey… I’m just saying. [Winks]
STREET INTELIGENCE: The average Naija woman is a hustler, a survivor and definitely smarter. Naija women beat Southy women hands down. The Nigerian society is a dog eat dog one, so street intelligence is a necessity otherwise you would be consumed. I always tell people, Naija women are an opposite of Naija men, I mean, if Naija men are defined as lions, definitely you don’t expect the women to be donkeys, they are also lionesses. They compliment the Naija men perfectly; they understand them more than any other set of ladies in the world. Southy women are still very naïve, they are an open book, or, maybe the street intelligence of Nigerians is way too ahead of them. Our Nigerian women are far more intelligent. Deny it all you want, they just are. Period. [I agree with this one *:D]
EDUCATION: Naija women are way ahead, in-fact across the world, Naija women stand out in-terms of education, this is an area that should not be contested between the two women. After common entrance, Junior WAEC, SSCE, JAMB, A levels, O levels, SAT, TOEFL, and the list goes on and on. Despite the poor level of education in Nigeria, when Naija women step out of the country and decide to study, they always come out tops. Try match up the achievement of women from both countries on a world scale, only then would you appreciate the educational capacity of Naija women. [*Yay!!! I so agree with this one too]
CULTURE: Culture plays a lot in the Nigerian society; Naija women are more culturally inclined than the average Southy women, don’t even try to contest this fact. Nigerian women put culture into perspective before they take actions in most situations. Although, a lot of people argue the fact that culture still plays a lot within the South African society, most South Africans will tell you that culture is only lost in Johannesburg and Pretoria, and as such, those cities should not be used as a yard stick to judge the cultural decency of the people. But I disagree with this believe, even in major cities in Nigeria, like Lagos, Abuja etc you will see the appreciation of culture and tradition by the female. Naija women are proud of their traditional outfit and cultural heritage, they will flaunt it at every given opportunity they get, it is very difficult for a Naija woman anywhere in the world not to be found in a traditional attire in two weeks at most, most Naija women have even been seen with different unique style which they use their traditional attires for, you will hardly find that in South Africa or anywhere you find South African women across the world. [Ok, 10pts here too, this writer knows his onions]
ROMANCE: This is a very difficult call to make honestly; I would rather stand in the middle and allow the readers to decidewho wins this. The reason I'm standing in the middle is because this is a difficult one to judge. When we talk about romance, we have to give a definition. Romance is one that sparks a lot of views. This is because there is no simple way to describe romance. Romance means many things, the following are some of the most common romance definitions. It has been equated to be the deliberate show of love and affection in a relationship. It has also been used to describe the person you love. For example, when you have a special person in your life, people will say that you have found romance in your life. It is more of an act and, romance is sometimes very tangible or visible. It is extremely powerful because it has the power to make or break a relationship. Lack of romance will make a dead union. To say who is more romantic here is very difficult, but what can be said is that Southy women are more flexible towards showing affection more than Naija women. Naija women are experts at controlling their emotions and romance towards their partners. [I can like to agree : ), the conclusion here should then be Southy women are partly a little "mumus in love" while Naija women are "smart people in love" with both of them still being able to be romantic.. Winks]
ATTITUDE: This is also something that will have to be looked at from a broader point of view, accepted attitude differs from person to person and also from society to society, what will be generally accepted as a good attitude by one person might not necessari;y be accepted by another person. In other to get a clearer picture, we will have to look at the general accepted African attitude to deal with this particular category. Based on this perspective, the Naija women’s attitude on an African context is way beyond that of Southy women [I am smiling now, yea me Berrykiss is smiling *:D].

For instance, most Africans will tell you that it is wrong and unacceptable for women to smoke or drink heavily. African men will probably say it is wrong for women to take control of the general responsibility of the home, but an average Southy woman will defer on that, saying it’s a modern way of life and self independence. An average Naija woman is far more respectful in the African context than an average Southy woman. The regard an average Naija woman will give to an elderly person is way ahead of the Southy woman. Based on the above it’s a definite 70 to 30% call here. [We go girls, shout out to all the Naija ladies!!!]

DRESS CODE: This is simple and I will deal with it as such. Naija women are flashy and will most likely dazzle you with different labels, Naija women are not cheap, calculate them from head to toe and you will most likely go beyond a $1000 mark dress code per important outing. Trust me they wear all the best labels; they are known to even wear the labels more than those it was manufactured in their countries. [Hehehe]

While that point has been established, the question that will come to play here is, despite the expensive clothings, shoes, wristwatches, handbags and more, how well does it sit on them? Southy women will most likely wear something not as expensive as what Nigerian women will flaunt, but the honest truth is that it will most likely sit well on them better. [Eyes rolling]
Yes, Naija women are more flashy and inviting with labels and all sorts, but Southy women are simpler, and cloths sit better on then. Fact....Shout as much as you want, this is the truth. [Who was going to shout before? I don't agree joh, maybe I do tho.. Sighs]
SEX: Hahaha, Naija women, this is a no go area for you to contest, I don’t care what ever excuse people will give, Southy women are more expressive towards sex than the average Naija women. Southy women will have sex because they want to express themselves and experience new things not minding what people will say, they are more open minded, non judgmental and see sex as a necessity, Southy women will take control in the bedroom if you seem not to know how to express yourself. [Hmmm, to think I know the writer of this piece, I wonder how he will explain this to his fiance.. How can he tell, has he been with Southy women ni? I'll like to know what my sister from another mother (his babe) think once she reads this. LOL..  #OkBye]
Naija women are a complete opposite, they withdraw and are scared not to be termed as cheap women or prostitutes, inother words, she pretends and would most likely not take control even when the situation presents itself for her to do so. If sex was the only yard stick at which marriage is to be judged, Southy women will score 90%. [Yeepa!!!]

No contesting this Naija women, lets just move right on from here. [Insert "talk to the hand smiley"]

FINANCIAL FREEDOM: Please do not be deceived when you see a Southy woman driving the most exotic car or she stays in the most exotic environment, for all you know everything you see is most likely on a monthly installment, if she defaults, twice or more times, everything might disappear. That is definitely not the case with Naija women, whatever she drives is most likely 100% hers, bought in hard raw cash, no monthly montages, no fear of re-possession [Grinning]…. Her bank account is fat in raw cash and not on projections. When a Naija woman tells you, this is my house, believe it, it is 100% hers [Wide Grin]. Do your mathematics and give me the answer. [I have it, we win here too, whoop whooppp!!!]

As earlier stated, the article was written in good faith, and personal capacity. We can argue as much as we want to dismiss some issues that have been raised here for both women but fact is, I'm not the only guy out here who feels the same way and know these to be fact too. I love my Nigerian sisters dearly on one side and on the other side, I respect and adore the South African sisters. [Erm..Coughs. He gotta love both sisters? Ok o]

Please share your comment, have I said it the way it is? Holla

  5. @Olaniyo, I tend to disagree with you and yes, I'm a South African woman.I have a couple of points I would like to clarify.firstly wearing traditional gear does not automatically make one cultural/traditional as you put it.so your view point on this is very narrow minded and not thought out. Secondly, you went on to say that South African girls are not educated, Wow,...South African women are highly educated and financially independent. Yes we might have installments but who buys a car that is R350 000 and a townhouse that is close to a million cash?the reality of this is that South African and Nigerian women are different and you can not compare the two.

  10. Hey mr know it all. I think you didn't do a fair survey on both sides and the issue of south africa being the most coountry with HIV I think you must your brothers and sisters who enter our bourders each seconds and bring their statistics and health issues with them. Its true our country its a world of opportunity for our foreign brothers but still it is becaming a challenge as the number increase each minute of them coming in. Secondly you can't compare us with ur nara ladies when it comes to education and finance because to be honest ur currency in below and its cheap to leave in ur country compare to south africa. If I was not already blessed with a south african man I would surely look for a foreign brother who I will make him rich in home country with our mula. Education wise we are on the top without a doubt and I fell sorry for you for meeting sluty ladies who believe sex is just sex because me I was not raised like that and even now all I have its because of working hard and going to school. Thanks!

  11. how dare you compare south african women with your bloody evil and cheap nigerian women. south african women are well educated, intelligent, good looking and hardworking. south africa would'nt be where it is today if wr had less education, we are africa's richiest and successful country all because we believe in education and we strive for it. Nigerians are bad news to every nation, you guys are a curse to the universe. Good at nothing but scamming people, prostitution, human trafficking and rituals just to obtain money. You come to south africa with your evil spirits to transport sickness, drugs and to cause corruption and destruction. Out of love we still grant you access to south africa even when all you is corrupting our land, and now that you've tasted the good fruit of a better life you now compare yourselves with us. We feed you, now that your full you talk shit. Never compare a stone to a diamond, Idiot. And as for fashion, what do nigerians know about style and high quality cause as far as i know you guys wear cheap chinesse clothing cause thats all you can afford with your low value currency. I doubt if any of you has ben to s.a, we have big brands here and our standard of living is high. You would never afford it.

  14. oh come on people why are you all so emotional. the writer clearly said this is an opinion, no1 suggested that its the ultimate truth. at the end of the day you know who are and you can only feel uneducated and ugly if you ALLOW it not coz someone else sed it. anyway i love hearing what other people think regardless of whether i agree or not because its good to be vigilant. so calm down were all loved by God anyway. P.S to Nigerian women, Us South African women do NOT think of you as prostitutes. you are our sisters and we love you.

  15. also we can't let men decide what feminine beauty is... only we determine that on our terms. if men don't want our terms than they can go look for some other species to have babies with. these are OUR bodies OUR minds OUR souls. how can we let the opinion of men come between us, we shouldn't fight ourselves.. this is divide and conquer. wake up!! as to the writer i don't have an issue with you expressing your opinion, it depends on what your intentions were and i believe you were not trying to cause harm but next time try to write about beautiful similarities between us rather than negative comparisons. KISSES!!!

  17. I dont understand why there should b a comparison btwn the 2, why r we letting men define us. Im a SA woman nd I thnk of myself as beautiful but not all SA women r beautiful nd same goes for Naija women sum r beautiful nd sum arnt. These comparisons r really causin anger nd hatred btwn the 2 nd Nigerian men should stop making Nigerian women feel like they r less of a woman cz of body shape as that shouldn't b the main factor when building a rlationship with sum1, women r the same all over the world they r mothers, lovers, care givers nd deserve to b respected.

  18. South African girls act so high and mighty and I'm willing to bet the SA girls who date Nigerians here are like the following examples. I work between Sandton and Ikeja. In Sandton you'll find droves of dolled up SA babes. Made up of single mothers, party girls and retail girls. You spend enough money on these girls and they will spread their legs easily. They hover the resturaunts, clubs and hotel lobbies waiting on rich Nogerian guys to fuck. For a iPhone, weave money, rent money and clothes money (never school money) I come to Victoria Island and you see girls from SA in Eko hotel on their iPhones waiting to get fucked. You know the type. Has a weave. Dresses like a bimbo and can suck so much dick. They look good and are open minded. They are game for anything too. 3 ways and orgies too. A lot of them have kids too. If I see another ex flight attendant, single mom or bimbo on the arm of a rich Naija boy it'll be too soon. They knowingly see married men and it isn't unusual for them to have more than one 'boyfriend'(client really). So don't act brand new Ms. SA. You guys don't call what you do prostitution becoz you call your clients boyfriends. How do you explain having a boyfriend in Lagos, while you live in SA? You see him only when he comes to SA or flies you to Lagos. Most have no day jobs. But have kids with useless men and depend on rich Naijas to solve their problems. Spreading their legs to any guy who helps them.

    1. Man Nigerian women have aborted their kids now that thy made with useless Nigerian men as well. An they are also prostitute jus like their Nigerian men who would rather fuck a woman as old as their motherfor money. U naijas go home to marry your doormat.can't stand women who are independent.also your women are ooh dirty and lazy.
Those girls u see in Lagos AR doing what naijas are doing all over the world even in bushes.

      Delete
  19. France fory, I hope u r aware that naija girls do d same things u accused S.A girls of. Women n men are generally the same the world over. Difference is that some people r more aggressive than others. But as for the good, bad and ugly you will find that in every society.

  20. You can't compare country to country. In each and every country there afe different challenges.Poor uneducated SA ladies they take anything that comes their way simply because they are poor nigerian will date them simply because they think you gna make their lives easier, same applies to Nigerian ladies they are prostitutes simply because they can't survive in their country and most of them are village girls the are not that educated having a worldwide recognised degree or diploma. So in other countries they are forced to be prostitutes. Women's characters doesn't differ from country to country but situations does what makes them differ. Each and every country has a woman who will be a thug, prostitutes, ugly, humble, gold diggers, classy chiks, and educated women etc but the main problem is the current situation that one is going through.
