First of, I'll like to say congratulations to all the nominees.. My favorites and those I'll be voting for are... see the names I highlighted on the nominees list below :D
Ignore the title of this post, the "I am not smiling part", it's simply attention seeking (wide grin).. Infact, that's one reason why I made it out like that.. So, back to my pi:ples on TFA2012 nominees list, I am partial about the ones I'm gon be voting for and thats cos I know most of them while the others are PEOPLE I have followed their works/project in the past year and seen how far they've grown to become a force to be reckoned with.
Nmachi Jidenma, I know of her and I love what she does; Omojuwa (activist.. *troublemaker) he hates the word activist so I've learnt.. :D; Whizkid - If I was 6yrs younger, I would be among the numerous **HOT babes who want, NEED him to notice them (..winks); Ohimai - He's a brother and I believe he has good intentions and will put them to good use. People on twitter should give him a break tho, or he ma sef should chill on sharng controversial tweets.
Tolu Ogunlesi - Not voting for him cos he shouldn't be on that list to start with.. Tolu is very deserving of any award even if pitched against international journalists but for the *criteria used in the selection process mentioned somewhere below, his name couldn't have been more inappropriate to be shortlisted; Akin Rotimi (smiles), I love the brother (sentiments again right? But no he's very outstanding in what he does.. Google the name.
Ferdinand Adimefe - well he's the only person I'm familiar with in his category before I typed away on google that is. As for Gidi Traffic - Thumbs up!
Occupy Nigeria and #SaveOke - may the soul of Samuel Ademola Aderinto and others who were killed during the protest rest in peace - these two should have just been noted in a speech or presentation of what coming together for a cause can do to help the people and nation. How do you award one for being of greater impact above the other or the rest when they all had their successes on issues they dealt with.. Just saying.
Having said these things, assume I'm addressing you verbally :D, I was looking for a name that I have since not found on the list for "Best Use of Advocacy", Esther Ijewere-Kalejaiye. To some people (very close friends), they'll wonder why I'm about this at all bhet... Anyways, don't just sit there and ask me who she is, ask me what she has done and I'll tell you to google the following, " War Against Rape" and "Project Capable".. I would think the effort put into these projects, what they represent, and how on point they are about issues touching on social awareness will count for a nomination but who knows how Chude and Debola think anyways.. I know I won't buy an excuse about how people nominated those that made the nominees list- they can save ithat for *Akpors - that stupid dude in most BBM jokes.
Linda Ikeji, my sister from another mother, the trouble maker but she whom I like gaan and defend alot as if she paid me to do that is the person I am so rooting for her in her category. Well, she's an amebo (gossip) but you can't say you don't know that she's done a lot of good deeds :D.. Thanks to Tyler Perry for the inspiration there : )
Others in Linda Ikeji's her category are great people especially Jason Njoku, and Chinwe Njoku, Banky W, Idris Akinbanjo, Raheem Temitope Bello. I love what these people represent and I'm definitely all about them too but the deal is I gotta vote for just one person. "The Young Person of the Year" award is about the only category in the entire list that I understand too, 80% of the rest of the nominees across several categories are just names to me, I was sure they are great people but I still had to make use of google.
***************
Got to MAKE it to bed now.. Shout out to y'all for following my blog, you'll notice I've not been sharing much lately, that's cos I have been VERY busy gaan. I've missed y'all TOO.. Hehe! With all the stuffs I'm dealing with out here, you have to bear with me ni. Thanks as always.

Banky W Answers Gay Questions, Find Out If He Is One Or Not
So, I bumped into this, a feature on the R&B singer Banky W in YNaija. Apparently some people have been asking him to come out and tell if he is gay or not.. I mean, come on people, is it your life? Well, he reacted and emphatically said in his own words the following:
‘It’s hilarious to me and completely false. I’m not. Maybe it’s because I’m not married, and I practice safe sex and thus have no children yet.’So there it is guys, the words are in, he's so not gay. Banky W is still up for the taking :D, all chicks in the house, it could very well be you he'll take home to mama. Banky W is currently on a U.S tour with fellow label mates.
Goldie's Last Words In Big Brother Before Eviction.. Goodbye Nigeria!
Goldie said she would have loved to spend her last three hours in a good mood with her lover, Prezzo, but fwas convinced it wouldn’t happen. Her words:
‘I would have wanted it to be different. I don’t think I will make it. I pray I do, but for some reason, I know I won’t make it‘
What a Chick Tattoed on her Arm for Love of her Nigerian Singer Boyfriend
This is actually stale gist but I didn't share it at the time.. Covers face* Square Records' artiste May D's girlfriend went and got herself a tattoo of the singer's name on her bod.. Deadt.. Like seriously, who does that? She's a girlfriend for crying out loud, what happens if/when he drops her? She has the tattoo for life and the guy gets a different who I hope will not be as foolish.
In related news (also stale), Ice Prince also got some fan lovin from Kenya, a Kenyan babe sent the rapper a pic of her arm with his name tattooed over it. See pic below. The rapper tweeted the following to show appreciation
Besides, he hasn't put a ring on it, so what right thinking human being of Nigerian descent will go this overboard to prove she loves her man. What man will take her as his woman if she breaks up with the singer? Well not my brother sha :D
In related news (also stale), Ice Prince also got some fan lovin from Kenya, a Kenyan babe sent the rapper a pic of her arm with his name tattooed over it. See pic below. The rapper tweeted the following to show appreciation
‘Shoutout 2 @EstherNdanu 4 loving the music enough to tattoo my real name on her… In another one he said; D X and Os to @EstherNdanu my new number 1 fan and BIG hug to the whole of Kenya!!!’.
Anglican Communion Approves Same Sex Marriage
The U.S. Episcopal Church on Tuesday approved a
liturgy for clergy to use in blessing same-sex unions, including gay marriages
in states where they are legal,
becoming the largest U.S. religious denomination to approve such a
ritual.
Delegates to its triennial convention voted 171-50
to approve the liturgy, titled "the Witnessing and Blessing of a Lifelong covenant." Episcopal bishops had voted
overwhelmingly on Monday in favor of the text. The U.S. Episcopal Church, part of the
worldwide Anglican Communion, is the 14th largest U.S. religious denomination,
with about 2 million members, according to the National Council of
Churches.
The proposed blessing will be introduced in
early December and will be evaluated over the next three years, according to a
church spokeswoman, Nancy Davidge.
The resolution does not mention the word
"marriage" and it does not alter the church's standard liturgy for a marriage
between a man and a woman, but offers an alternative liturgy for blessing same-sex couples.
The measure also gives bishops of the church discretion in the
use of the liturgy and says no one should be punished for choosing not to use
it.
Reverend Bonnie Perry of Chicago, who supports
marriage between same-sex couples, said she was pleased by the decision. "For me
it is a window on the Promised Land. It's not the Promised Land," she said. "The
most important part of a marriage is the blessing
